Ps. 5:3, Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.

Ps. 19:14, May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

  1. Necessary Time

It takes time to engage in the replenishing habits that nurture and strengthen our relationship with God. With the demands of life pulling at us, investing time with Him requires intentionality. Yes, it will take time away from other things, even time away from important things. But the time we spend with God—laying our hearts bare before Him, nurturing our leadership perspective, seeking His wisdom and way for our leadership interactions—is well worth it, both for us, and those we serve.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. —Mark 1:35

Prayer: God, thank You that You are always with us. Thank You, too, for the privilege we have of spending time with You. May we, like Jesus, make time with You a priority, seeking to be prepared for and transformed to serve others like He did. In His name we pray, amen.
