Psalms 42:5
Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him
For the help of His countenance.

Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God— soon I’ll be praising again. He puts a smile on my face. He’s my God. (Psalm 42:5 MSG)

Sometimes no matter how much you are praying, believing, there are times we begin to get discouraged. It doesn’t start with discouragement, it usually begins with just simply getting tired, and that is the foothold (Ephesians 4:27
nor give place to the devil.) for the enemy to come in with discouragement.

Galatians 6:9
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

How come we just seem to get so tired, and how can I fix that in my life?

As a Pastor I have heard it so many times that someone has “burned out” in the ministry. This is the same scenario as we are talking about.

Here are some steps to break that cycle in your life

1. Live out of your excess – We should never be so dry in the Spirit that we have to live and give out of our need. You must do devotions every day, get into the Word to feed and water your spirit.
2. 1 Peter 5:7, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. This literally means to throw like a stone. Throw your cares, burden, situation, concerns, cares to Him. I mean, go ahead and do it right now. Literally, throw your cares to Him!!
3. Pray in the Holy Spirit often and always – Jude 1:20, But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
4. Find a Faith Friend – find someone that will speak life and encouragement to you and your situation, and not doubt. We never need sympathy, we need empathy. Sympathy says how sad it is while empathy says, let’s get this thing fixed.

He is waiting to strengthen you today. You do not have to be discouraged, or tired, get your strength from above!
