WE ALL HAVE PEOPLE IN OUR LIVES THAT TAKE OUR TIME, FOCUS, AND INFLUENCE IN SOME DIMENSION.
A great challenge is when we re-evaluate those relationships to make sure that they are productive.
I AM NOT SAYING KICKING PEOPLE OUT OF YOUR LIFE (although some of us need to do that with some people), BUT I AM SAYING THAT WE NEED TO ASK OURSELVES IF THEY ARE ADDING ANYTHING TO OUR LIVES.
There are relationships where the other person has all the benefits from the friendship.
There are relationships where there is no communication unless they need something from you.
There are relationships where the other person only seems to draw you back to sin.
There are relationships where it it mutual – these are healthy!
Give and take – share and listen – encourage and correct.
HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS MUST BE MUTUAL, NOT A ONE WAY STREET.
Recently I have been evaluating my ministry relationships and realizing that some that I have had for years do not add to my life (they are not bad, they just add nothing).
OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS MUST BE THE SAME THING. WE CANNOT TAKE ALL THE BENEFITS FROM HIM (salvation, peace, joy, power, blessing…..) AND NOT GIVE ANYTHING BACK. NOT A TRADE OFF….. I MEAN RELATIONSHIP!
Jesus is waiting for you to not only bless you but to have a relationship with you.
THIS IS WHY HE CAME!
What relationships in your life are not mutual?
What relationships take but never replenish?
DO WE HAVE A RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS THAT IS MUTUAL OR IS HE THE ONLY ONE GIVING?

Proverbs 18:24 “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
