THOUGHTS OF QUITTING?

quitting-is-not-an-option

The ONLY PEOPLE WHO HAVE THE LUXURY TO THINK ABOUT QUITTING ARE THOSE WHO NEVER WILL.

So what about the rest of the population?

Learning to own our thoughts, rather than our thoughts owning us is an important skill.  I have heard people say, “I cannot control what I am thinking.”  I would say without any reservation that is not true!

2 Cor. 10:5,  We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

We will either control our thoughts, or they will control US.

When discouragement comes, hard times hit, expectations are shorted, hearts are hurt, the natural reaction is to shrink back and lick our wounds.  There is a time for that, but that time must be shortened, or we will allow the wound to create fear in our minds and thoughts, which will then cause the reaction of giving up.

Ps. 34:18, The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.

Here is what you do when the feelings and emotions of quitting come to your thoughts.

1)  1 Pet. 5:7, Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

2)  Ask for the wisdom in how to fix it.  James 1:5, If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

3) Tell your mind to come into subjection, and start thinking the Word, and not your problem.  This is not avoidance, this is focusing on the One who has the answer, and knows the future.

4)  Start to worship, and thanking Jesus that He is working on your behalf!

Phil 4:6-9, Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you.

QUITTING CAN ONLY HAPPEN WHEN WE TAKE OUR EYES OFF OF JESUS, AND PUT THEM ON THE SITUATION!

STOP ALLOWING YOUR SITUATIONS AND CIRCUMSTANCES TO CONTROL YOU!

YOU CONTROL YOUR MIND, WHICH AFFECTS YOUR EMOTIONS, WHICH DETERMINES YOUR OUTWARD ACTION!
