Spiritual Boredom!

Boredom

I am sure you have heard people say, “I’m in a RUT.”

WHAT IS A RUT?

It is a grave with both ends knocked out.  It reminds me of one of the episodes of DUCK DYNASTY where they were teasing Will that he was no longer a redneck, but now was citified.  He was driving and was going to show the men that this was not the case.  He swerved into a field and started doing donuts with his truck, slinging mud everywhere!  He then went into one of the ruts that he created and got STUCK.  He tried forward, reverse, being pushed, and nothing worked.  They got out of the truck and started to walk, and then Will fell flat in the mud!  It was funny, but, not if this is happening in real life.

I have some GREAT NEWS for you TODAY!

No matter how spiritual you are, no matter how many years you serve Jesus, there will always come some dry, stuck seasons in your life.

WHEW….. isn’t it good to know you are not alone?

The dry, rutty feeling is not the problem, because it will happen in your life multiple times.  The problem is what you are going to do about that WHEN it comes.

Many people react in the, “I’M GIVING UP” mindset, but if that is what you do then you will never get past that dry, rutty spot in your spiritual life.  You must make the determination that no matter how you FEEL, you are moving forward, never backward.

It is a choice, a decision, that backwards, reverse has been dismantled in my life.  There is not an option for that direction.

SO, WHAT DO WE DO TO GET OUT OF THE RUT?

SO, WHAT DO WE DO TO GET OUT OF THAT DRY PLACE?

One of the non-popular answers is CONSISTENCY.  The fundamentals are always what keep us from getting into the mud.  They are also that chain to hook onto when we seem to be stuck.  DO NOT go out and just try new things to get out of the rut, because then we are training ourselves that experiences are the answer.  There are Christians that jump from one experience to another to stay “fresh”, but they never grow roots and mature.  Stay steady.  Get into the Word (make yourself if you have to), make your appointment with God daily to talk with Him, stay consistent.  DO NOT STOP GOING TO CHURCH!!

Be the tortoise, not the rabbit, and you will finish the race!

CONSISTENCY IS EVERYTHING!

2 Tim. 4:7, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
