I am a Holy Ghost filled, tongue talking, anointed to do the work of Jesus Christian!
Well brother, that tongue talking stuff makes people uncomfortable and some even say it ceased with the first century church.
THERE IS ONLY ONE PERSON TO BLAME FOR THIS TONGUE TALKING STUFF – JESUS!!
Jesus told the disciples to go and wait for the promise of the Father that would give them MORE POWER!
Acts 1:4-5, he commanded them, “Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. 5 John baptized with water, but in just a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
THEN IT HAPPENED…..SUDDENLY!
Acts 2:2-4, Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. 3 Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. 4 And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.
EVEN THE CESSATIONIST cannot deny that the Holy Ghost was poured out on the day of Pentecost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues.
SO WHERE DOES IT SAY THAT TONGUES CEASED? WHY DID JESUS STOP THIS GIFT FOR HIS CHURCH TODAY?
The only place that comes close to saying it stopped is in 1 Cor. 13:8, Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.
QUESTION: Has knowledge ceased? If one part of the verse has not vanished then you cannot just take out what makes you comfortable. ALL OR NOTHING BABY!
I WANT TO DO WHAT PAUL SAYS IN 1 COR. 14:18, I thank God that I speak in tongues more than any of you.
Pray in tongues often and always – it keeps your spiritual man connected tightly to heaven!
If you are not filled with the Holy Spirit, ask Him right now and He will FILL YOU, AND YOU WILL SPEAK IN TONGUES!
