Is Your Spirit DRY?

You remember when you were saved!  The rush of cleansing blood gave reality of being brand new!  You opened the Bible and it jumped off the pages.  You prayed crazy prayers and God answered, showing you how powerful and real He is in your every day life.  You could not wait to get to church, to run to the altar and worship.  You cannot wait for Tuesday nights to open the next chapter of Rock Solid Faith.  PASSION IS RUNNING HARD AND STRONG THROUGH YOUR SPIRIT.

NOW……

It is like the passion is drying up!  It has almost just become a routine.  You now have to make yourself get out of bed on a Sunday morning and there is always an excuse to miss Rock Solid Faith.  Picking up the Bible is pushed away for a few extra moments of sleep.

DRY AS I AM……

I know God is REAL!  I know He has moved in my life!  WHAT HAPPENED?  WHY AM I SO DRY?

There are different reasons why people get dry in spirit, and over the next few days we will unveil the most common.

SOME PEOPLE ARE DRY BECAUSE THEY ARE IN SIN.

Sin is a separator.  It creates a chasm between us and Jesus.  As a Christian we sin, and thank God for Jesus who washes them away (1 John 1:9), but if we continue in sin, knowingly choosing to not walk in His ways, then we are drying up the well of our fresh water.

IF THERE IS SIN IN YOUR LIFE IT WILL CAUSE YOU TO BECOME DRY AND HARD IN THE SPIRIT!

King David did this.  He was a man after God’s own heart, yet when he sinned with Bathsheba, got her pregnant, had her husband killed, the Prophet revealed that his heart had become contaminated by sin.  David was wise enough to call out in repentance for renewal and refreshing.

Ps. 51:7-12,

Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean;
    wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Oh, give me back my joy again;
    you have broken me—
    now let me rejoice.
Don’t keep looking at my sins.
    Remove the stain of my guilt.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God.
    Renew a loyal spirit within me.
11 Do not banish me from your presence,
    and don’t take your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
    and make me willing to obey you.  NLT

IF SIN IS MAKING YOUR SPIRIT DRY, PRAY DAVID’S PRAYER WITH YOUR WHOLE HEART AND FEEL THE FRESHNESS OF THE HOLY GHOST RETURN TO YOUR LIFE!
