FORGIVING YOURSELF! pt. 1

First-Step-300x256

Matt. 6:14-15,  For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

THE MOST DIFFICULT PERSON TO FORGIVE IS YOURSELF!

Through personal experience and through many years of ministry it is more than evident that forgiving another person is easier than forgiving ourselves for the foolish choices we make.  I have seen so many Christians disconnect from God, not because He has not forgiven them, but because the person never allowed themselves to be free from a sin that they did in their lives.

Come on you know what I mean!

When you do something that you are not proud of and maybe nobody else even knows what you have done, but inside you know, and it is eating you up.

                                               i.     Every time you go to pray, it comes up in your mind.

ii.     Every time you come to church you feel that if people knew you would not be accepted any longer.

iii.     That shame feeling that grabs you and says you are worthless and God will never forgive you.

iv.     After a while you stop praying because you are convinced that God doesn’t hear you and will never forgive you.

                                             v.     Why come to church any more?  I might as well go back to the bar.

vi.     Even if God forgives me, I cannot forgive myself!

IF JESUS CAN FORGIVE YOU, IT IS TIME THAT YOU FORGIVE YOURSELF!

YOU CANNOT GO BACK IN TIME AND CHANGE IT.

IT IS TIME TO FORGIVE YOURSELF AND STOP SHACKLING YOURSELF TO THE PAST.

STOP ALLOWING YOUR PAST TO DICTATE YOUR FUTURE.

You do not want to miss tomorrow’s devotion!!

Send this to a friend who is tormenting themselves through personal unforgiveness.
