Have you ever finished a conversation and you just leave feeling like you need a shower?

You were hanging out with your friend, and you never noticed it before, but this time when you left you felt too dirty. Not because you were playing in the mud…lol, but because that friend was talking so bad, backbiting about another person that when you left, you felt nasty.

There was a person like that was in my life at one time. Did you notice I said “was”?

This person was always a blessing to me, but every time I would leave their presence I seriously felt like someone just puked all over me. No bath could wash off the feeling of dirt that this person left on me.
I want to clarify, they were a great person, nice, caring, BUT, a massive backbiting gossip.
I had to make a decision, I would no longer talk with them. I care for them, would be there if there was a need, but I could no longer be a friend, I could only be an acquaintance.

Romans 1:30-32
backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; 32 who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.

Not that we all don’t do this, but, there is a difference between a person who does something in stupidity, and a person who practices, lives the lifestyle. The person who lives this lifestyle is a person you should stay 2 arms lengths away from. Whether they call themselves a Christian, or even if they are family.

The only way to not feel dirty is to not be where the dirt is being flung!

2 Timothy 3:1-5
1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self- control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!
