Casting Out or Off a Demon pt. 1

We have covered many dimensions to be clear for understandings sake.

We have covered that there are ONLY two places power comes from: God & Satan

We have uncovered, and showed in the Word what some demonic activity are (Wicca, witchcraft, Reiki, Psychics, tarot cards, seances….).

We have taught the difference between Possession & Oppression.

NOW, how to cast out or off a demon.

Mark 16:17-18, And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons…

Are you known in Hell?

Acts 19:13-16, A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!”14 Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this. 15 But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” 16 Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered.

The demons recognized Jesus, they recognized Paul, but because these men were not living for the Lord, just using His name, they got the snot kicked out of the them and they ran home naked, crying to momma.

Jesus has given us authority in Mark 16:17 to cast out devils, so we have the authority as a believer.  Living the life of a true believer activates the authority in your life!

So let’s make this very simple right now, when, not if, you come across a demon possessed person:

1) Ask the individual if they desire to be free from the demon.

2) Do not lays hands on, simple speak to the demon and cast it out of the person.

3) Lead them into salvation with Jesus (if they do not get saved then the demon will come back with 7 worse than himself).

4) Bring them to church to grow and learn about Jesus!!!

KEEP IT SIMPLE!

JESUS MADE IT SIMPLE, WE NEED TO JUST DO IT!

How will I know if someone is possessed?  Great question!  Ask the Holy Spirit for the Discerning of Spirits (we will cover that in a future blog).

  1. Dave Brefka says:

    Hi Pastor,

Yesterday you said that God created Satan so he could use Satan to tempt us because of our free will. This is not true. If this was true that would make God complicit in our temptations and the Word state that God tempts no man. God created Lucifer and Lucifer decided to rebel against God and Lucifer turned into Satan when he was cast out of heaven.

    Please clarify,

    Dave Brefka

    1. You misunderstood me David. I didn’t say God created him to tempt. God’s foreknowledge does not mean He made the rebellion occur. If it wasn’t Satan, God still would have had opportunity to choose life or death

  2. Dave Brefka says:

Well, that opens up another can of worms. If God did foreknow then why did he create him? I, personally, don’t think God knew. I say that because if he already knows who will and won’t be saved then why would he allow them, that will not be saved, to be born in the first place? I’m not challenging you or questioning God. I actually believe that God is Unblamable and we have no right or position to accuse him of anything evil. I just find this conundrum interesting. It’s kind of like the paradox of traveling through time and meeting your father and killing him. If you killed him then how were you born to begin with. That’s the way I accept or view God’s Foreknowledge…

    Thanx!
