The God Kind of LOVE

God’s love is UNCONDITIONAL!

The awesome part is that He lives inside us, and so that same love that is in the Father can now come through us for the people around us!

The personality of the Holy Spirit now resides in our spirit. We have the new nature – the very nature of our Father in heaven. The greatest character mark of our Daddy is – LOVE!

1 Cor. 13:4-6, Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. 6 It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. 7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Suffers long – does not look at the moment – but at your “Z”.  The word used of the man who is wronged, and who easily has the power to avenge himself, but will not do it out of mercy and patience.

Kind – mild in nature – nice

What love is NOT

Not envious – Is envy a small sin? Envy murdered Abel (Genesis 4:3-8). Envy enslaved Joseph (Genesis 37:11, 28). Envy put Jesus on the cross: For he knew that they had handed Him over because of envy (Matthew 27:18).  Opposite of envy – does not resent it when someone else is promoted or blessed. Is happy when others excel, even if they do not.

Does not parade itself – Love gives because it loves to give, not out of the sense of praise it can have from showing itself off. It does not shout, “Look at me!”

Is NOT puffed up – Love doesn’t get it’s head swelled, it focuses on the needs of others. Be the greatest – be the servant.

Does NOT behave rudely – Where there is love, there will be kindness and good manners.

Does NOT seek its own – Paul speaks the same idea in Romans 12:10, “…in honor giving preference to one another.” Also, Philippians 2:4 carries the same thought, “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.” This is being like Jesus in a most basic way, being an others-centered person instead of a self-centered person.

Is NOT provoked – We all find it easy to be provoked, to become irritated with those who are just plain annoying. But it is a sin to be provoked, and it isn’t loving. Moses was kept from the Promised Land because he became provoked at the people of Israel (Numbers 20:2-11).

Thinks NO evil – Literally, this means “love does not store up the memory of any wrong it has received.” Love will put away the hurts of the past instead of clinging to them.

Does NOT rejoice in sin – Love can always stand with and on the truth, because love is pure and good like truth.

WE WILL FINISH THIS TOMORROW……

Everyone should love one another the same way they would want to be loved in return. God is Love!!!. Every person comes from a different place in life and is going through a different thing carrying it a different way. We need to love one another uncondtionally with no condition the way God does.
