It’s NOT the EVENT pt. 2

By popular request….

So many are so passionate about getting the next HIGH. They need to get pumped up, get the next sensation, the next prophecy, the next dance, and the next event. In all of this searching for the NEXT thing, they completely miss the journey of maturity.

Moses was schooled in Egyptian education and culture, but he was not Egyptian, he was a Jew. When he saw the slave being beaten by the guard he felt that an event would make him a deliverer. Sadly, the event made him a murderer, and not only was he now rejected by Pharaoh’s courts, but his own people did not see the event as making him into anything.

People are not MADE in the event or the experience, people are MADE in the journey of everyday living. Moses was MADE on the backside of the desert, tending sheep. This is where God developed his character and matured his manhood. It’s where Moses developed a daily relationship with the living God. It is in those desert places that God hones us, and gets those things out of our lives that will destroy us, or make us unusable, or disqualified for His kingdom. What a gracious God that He deals with our weaknesses in private on the journey, rather than throw us out in public to deal with them in front of everyone. After 40 years in the desert Moses was then ready for the events that would come from his journey. These events would have destroyed Moses without the maturing, making, spanking, loving relationship that Moses has with His God. God called Moses, His friend.

James 2:23, And the Scripture was fulfilled which says,“Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God.
Do not despise the backside of the desert in your life!

It is the grace of God!

Allow Jesus to train you in the journey, and you will be ready when the event comes. If you strive for the events, then the journey is lost, and the event will only be another high, with no substance.

James 1:2-4, Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
